Can you identify this game? These screens are from a home video that happened to capture my older brother's computer screen in like 2003. I asked the UDIC facebook group, and here's what the game is: [Show/Hide] Menzoberranzan.
It's a game my brother played in like 2003 but that I still had never even heard of until the UDIC group named it. He also played Dungeon Keeper and got me interested in Dungeon Keeper. He also played Diablo, Planescape Torment, Birthright, Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven, MUD's, and Age of Empires, none of which were my kind of game since I was more of a Zelda guy than a numbers-basd RPG person. He also played MUDs, but I could never handle the lack of graphics. Before that in like 1993, when our mom got us out GeoWorks Ensemble computer he played Ultima VI: The False Prophet, which I played and loved and is still my favorite game of all time considering how much potential it showed in open-world computer role-playing games all the way back in 1990. Our copy of Ultima VI either had bugs, or the floppy disks had some corrupted data, because I remember back then there were weird corruption issues all the time.
But now with modern releases like here on gog.com and using better engines like the free NuVIe engine, Ultima VI is an awesome experience, though the somewhat dated graphics and controls limit its ability to be experienced by a modern audience in all its glory. The Ultima VI Project remade it, though the Dungeon Siege engine had limitations that prevented the simulation from being as deep as I would want it to be in a modern remake of Ultima VI.
Here's the original fb UDIC post.
