This shot from the show Loki on Disney+ (S1:E1) really reminded me of something. Their method of travel is... familiar. The orange is the original, Makes me want a movie that looks like this.

Three soldiers carrying guns walk out of a rectangular gelatinous glowing portal through a forest at night. Portal is blue-colored.

The blue is an edit I made.

Three soldiers carrying guns walk out of a rectangular gelatinous glowing portal through a forest at night. Portal is red-colored.

And I threw in a red for good measure.

Don't forget the original inspiration for the portals (called moongates in Ultima games), allegedly according to Richard Garriott:

A young boy falls through a flat rectangular portal in the sky at dawn.

I often imagine what it would be like to see proper Ultima movies. If you watch Time Bandits, you'll see many inspirations for Ultima. The wizard and the dungeon in particular, along with the pirate themes, give very Ultima vibes. There may even be a spaceship!

Here's the original fb UDIC post.
