3D models in a row: lightning wand, chair, spool of thread, shield, bush.

What should these Ultima VI objects really look like in 3D?

  • A: lightning wand
  • B: chair
  • C: spool of thread (should it really be giant?)
  • D: winged shield (looks like a clown smiley face?)
  • E: bush (what likely species?)
  • F: pointy tree (what likely species?)
  • These are my worst-looking models, and the only U6 models remaining for me to complete (of props and setpieces that is). The other 500 are custom-modeled and textured! I hope to show them off soon to get feedback for further polish.

What do you guess is the brown mustache thing at the end of the pixel image?

The mustache thing is probably an unsed yoke graphic. I looked around the entire 8K overworld map of ultimate 6 and I couldn't find this object anywhere but yeah it looks like a yoke.

    J.M. semi-confirmed this:

"Item 107 is listed as a 'Yoke': The Ultima Codex 'Get Items' List."

    S.G. suggested this chair:

    S.G. suggested this tree:

And here's the actual Ultima VI tree sprite again close-up:

    R.E. suggested this tree:

    Then J.M. said this:

"This (pine tree) may be another form of boxwood, but they are cut and pruned carefully to get this shape. I'm not sure the game image is intended to be a spiral though. It may just be like layers on a conical evergreen tree: Oakland Nursery "

    J.S. said:

" E. (could be) various boxwood, naturally spherical at maturity (e.g., English Boxwood).

    F. I think this is meant to be a conic evergreen but is presented at reduced scale because of the of map scale change from U5 to U6. So, even though it's "human-sized," this could be interpreted as any conic evergreen such as douglas fir, thuja / green giant arborvitae, or leyland cypress.. some of which are much taller than U6 NPC sprites. "

But what about that lightning wand? In U6 it's a wand, but is it really a lightning whip?

    J.M suggested:

"it kinda looks more like a tree branch than a bolt of lightning... I don't think it's a whip because it actually shoots out a lightning bolt in-game. I did a google search for "lightning bolt wand" and found this... this is kinda how I imagine it is... a wooden branch made into a wand shrouded in lightning?"

Thread - the image is actually thread on a spindle. A spool has a central hole allowing the spool to be put on a spindle: The image looks like it's more narrow on one side than the other...
