Re-imagining Blackthorn's Palace Entrance with Modern Ultima Concepts

Workshopping the Blackthorn's Palace area. Considering having the ocean fall into the starry void as a waterfall in front of it, as an homage to the starry void in U6 at the beginning of the palace. I really want to take the Ultima concept of "here's a problem. now solve it" to a modern level. How are you going to get into the palace?

An island in the ocean whose landmass slopes into a void, and a castle hovering above the empty void.

3D modeling the island of Blackthorn's Palace.

Flight? summoning floating blocks? using a weird moonstone teleport? Inhabit someone inside the palace and have them lower the bridge? Use a clairvoyant spell coupled with a telekinesis spell to just bring whatever's inside the palace out to you? or do some magical inversion where you can walk across voids. Or just use some magic to resonate with the objects in there, to get a vision of them, to recreate your own copies of them with the help of blacksmiths, etc. so you never even need to enter the palace.

Gosh this reminds me how awesome an Ultima or Elder Scrolls game could be if they still did awesome experimental powerful stuff like in U6 or Daggerfall, but with modern tech. Super excited about the upcoming game Wayward Realms by the original Daggerfall devs: OnceLost Games Youtube Channel.

Here's the original fb UDIC post.
