When everyone raved about The Witcher 3, I played it a bit and wandered into a cottage. I could not sit in the chairs, sleep in the beds, or cook at the fireplace. i was like "what?".
Nowadays a lot of places in games feel like Mickey Mouse's plastic house in Disney World - a cool looking sculpture that does nothing. The simulation of the world in rpgs I feel has been neglected as we've been steered down a very shallow path of "punch evil monsters that use PBR materials for the 900th time!" by the AAA game industry.
Some games are still deep in terms of roleplay but often shallow in terms of simulating a believable world. I hope to bring back a richer interaction experience for #NotSSgame and also Age Of Singularity. The COTA Code is a part of changing this.
Sounds like some kind of greek mythology nightmare, and I think we can do more interesting things. And yes, unlike in original Ultima VI, in AoS you'll be able to sleep in beds.
