Trying to see the big picture of quest progression in Ultima VI, I asked this question:

Can a player talk to Valkadesh in Ultima VI BEFORE learning Gargish and ask him things like honor, answer, inquisitor, prop, code. In theory he should give some weird "sorry me no speaky english very good" response, but is that accounted for, or does it just hack through as if you had learned Gargish? His default "other" response is "To be confused by your accent. To ask what means?"

I'm making a SQL database of all the U6 dialogue right now and need to know how it handles conditions like this. I'm wondering, does it legit have a language/flag attached to each keyword to redirect to other if you don't know the language? I'll eventually be playtesting through the original game with my system side-by side to check, but it would help in formatting to know early. The SQL database is currently 6200 lines, and I have about 20 characters left; gargoyles, wisp, guard, shrines.

A.M. in the FB UDIC took these screenshots, which may shed some light, as the friendly gargoyles who speak human tell you to speak to Captain John first, and if the Avatar speaks to Beh Lem early, Beh Lem says he can't speak human well."
