My own Twin Peaks/Alan Wake -style mystery
detective adventure.
Minor spoiler for Twin Peaks season 3: I
was bummed when most of it took place NOT in
Twin Peaks and NOT with Cooper solving
mysteries.
When Alan Wake 2 came out, I
wasn't able to buy it right away, so I got
really interested in Alan Wake-adjacent things.
I finally started playing Mizzurna Falls, I
tried the PS1-style Twin Peaks fan game demo,
and I finally started watching Twin Peaks for
real.
In this process I started to figure
out the kind of game experience I wanted if I
were to make a proper detective game in a small
remote town. That's what CF is. I want it to
have vibes of Alan Wake and also Twin Peaks, but
bringing in some gameplay mechanics from
Mizzurna Falls - an open-world Majora's Mask
style game never released in North America. The
location of CF exists in #NotSsgame, and we'll
see how much of CF ends up being in #NotSSgame.
