About Video Tapes
Many classic games have sections I wish could be
re-released on their own without having to deal
with the larger game context. Examples are
certain awesome chapters from Paper Mario: The
Thousand Year Door, or certain mansion sections
from Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. If I
could just a la carte buy certain chapters from
those games to play on PC in a convenient and
inexpensive fashion, I'd totally do it.
In NotSSgame, there are many small vignette
adventures you can discover around the world,
each one the equivalent of a small Puppet Combo
or Chilla's Art experience. While these
experiences further develop the world of
NotSSgame and will all be included as a free
core element of NotSSgame, I also want to make
them purchasable as individual vignette a la
carte experiences in Steam/itch.io for a dollar
or two, and I want them to fill out a framework
app that can optionally launch them. This way people can buy
NotSSgame and have all these experiences
available, or
they can buy individual vignettes as they wish.
The closest current thing that exists to
this idea that I've seen is Scary Tales Vol. 1 by
Puppet Combo, which you should check out. The
Haunted PS1 Demo Discs and the Dread X
Collections are similar in style as well, and
you should check all those out on itch.io or
Steam.
